UPDATE 10/17/2022: Janesville Velo Club is about to commit with our contractor to construct the East Loop and Intermediate Loop of the Palmer Park Trail system plan, however at this time we are about $6,000 short of the funds needed for construction of both features. A final 2022 fundraising effort is needed to get this project off the ground in 2023. There are links below to make online donations, as well instructions to do so by check. Janesville Velo Club is starting the public fundraising campaign for the Palmer Park Mountain Bike Trails and Skills Area, through the Community Foundation of Southern Wisconsin
The project is in partnership with the City of Janesville, Janesville Velo Club, Rock Trail Coalition, Michael’s Cycles and the City of Janesville Parks and Recreation Division.
Private donations of $55,000.00 of the $260,000.00 project cost has been raised from foundations, businesses and individuals here in the community to date.
The Janesville Velo Club has made a down payment securing a Spring 2023 build and with the public support they are hoping to have a complete build at that time.
Securing the $205,000.00 balance by November 1, 2022 will assure a complete build of the 6 areas of off road single track courses proposed for the 37 acre area in Palmer Park.
